John Wakeman’nın sözleriyle karakterlerin davranışlarından daha çok karakterlerin davranışları konusunda ne düşündüğünü araştıran incelikle yapılmış psikolojik bir film. Altı filmlik ahlak öykülerinin beşincisi, yakında evlenecek olan ama yeni tanıştığı bir kadının dizine dokunma özlemi duyan bir adamın öyküsünü anlatır. Düğününden kısa bir süre önce tatile giden Jerome, ondan etkilenen genç Laura ile tanışır. Laura’nın kız kardeşinin diziyle de tanışınca o dize dokunma arzusu ile acı çekmeye başlar ve onunla flört etmeye çalışır.

Film, Rohmer’in ikinci renkli filmidir çünkü söylediğine göre gölün varlığı ve dağların güçlü rengi ile filmi siyah beyaz olarak hayal edememiştir. Yeşil, filmin temel rengi olmuştur. Altın Küre Ödüllerinde En İyi Yabancı Film dalında aday gösterilen film ünlü eleştirmen Vincent Canby tarafından kusursuza yakın olarak tanımlanmıştır.

Fifth film of Éric Rohmer’s film series Six Moral Tales, where he presents subtle psychological investigations about what characters think about their behavior than about their behavior itself in John Wakeman’s words; the film tells the story of a soon-to-be married man, longing to touch a woman’s knee. Days away to his wedding, Jerome goes to summer holidays and meets Laura, a young girl infatuated with him. After seeing her sister’s knee, Jerome suffers from a desire to touch it; so he tries to flirt with her.The film is the second film by Éric Rohmer to be shot in color because in his own words, the presence of the lake and the mountains was stronger in color and that he could not imagine the film in black and white, stating green is an essential color for the film. Being nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe Awards, the film was praised as something close to perfect by the famous film critic Vincent Canby.
