Türkçe Sinopsis

Painter Youngsoo hears that his girlfriend Minjung has been drinking and fighting with another man. That night they argue, and Minjung leaves, saying they should stop seeing each other for a while. The next day, Youngsoo sets out to look for her, but to no avail. Meanwhile, in his hometown of Yeonnam, Minjung, or women who look identical to her, have meetings with different men. Youngsoo wanders the streets fighting with himself, which is the same as fighting with the world.

Dört kadının oyunculuk okulundaki hayatlarını takip eden film; her ne kadar tiyatroyu konu alıyor gibi görünse de tiyatronun gerçek hayatla ilgisindense karakterlerin hikayelerine odaklanıyor. Film, Rivette’in filmlerinin genel bir özeti olarak da biliniyor ve ilerleyen zamana rağmen yönetmenin ilk filmleri kadar övgü alıyor.

Jacques Rivette

1982’de Rouen’de herkesin eczacı olduğu bir ailenin çocuğu olarak doğdu. 1949’da Paris’e yerleşti. The Institut des Hautes Études Cİnématographiques’de eğitim almak istedi ancak kabul edilmedi. O da Cinémathèque Français’de gösterilen filmleri izleyerek, kendi sinema eğitimine başladı. İlerde diğer genç Fransız film eleştirmenleriyle beraber, Fransız Yeni Dalgasını oluşturacağı Godard, Rohmer ve Chabrol ile orada tanıştı. Rivette’in entelektüel sorgulamalar yapan, düşündürücü son derece uzun filmleri bu ekipteki diğerlerinin filmlerine kıyasla hakkettiği değeri en az bulanlardır.  Buna rağmen 50 yıllık bir sürede etkileyici ve son derece tutarlı eserler vermekten geri kalmamıştır. 2016 yılı Ocak ayında hayatını kaybetti.
