1938’de Polonya’da doğan yönetmen, senarist, oyun yazarı ve aktör Jerry Skolomowski prestijli Lodz Film Okulundan mezun oldu. 1960’dan beri bir çok film yapan yönetmenin ilk filmi ‘The Menacing Eye’ olmuştur. 1978’de Cannes Film Festivalinde ‘The Shout’ filmi ile Büyük Jüri Ödülünü ve 1982’de ise En iyi Senaryo Ödülünü ‘Moonlighting’ ile almıştır. Skolomowski, 1967’de Berlin Uluslararası Film Festivali’nde ‘Le Depart’ filmi için Altın Ayı ödülüne aday gösterilmiştir. Yönetmenler Roman Polanski ve Andrej Munk’la yakın arkadaştır.
Born in 1938 in Poland, film maker, screenwriter, dramatist and actor Jerry Skolomowski graduated the prestigious Lodz Film School. Since 1960 he has directed more than 60 films, making his debut with The Menacing Eye. He has won a Grand Prize of the Jury Award at the 1978 Cannes Film Festival for his film The Shout and won a Best Screenplay Award at the 1982 Cannes Film Festival for his film Moonlighting. He has also been nominated for a Golden Berlin Bear at the 1967 Berlin International Film Festival for his film Le Depart. He is also good friends with directors Roman Polanski and Andrej Munk.
