On yıllardır bölgenin çevresine zarar veren Avrupa'nın en büyük çelik fabrikasından çok da uzak olmayan Apulia'da geçen film, görsel açıdan zengin bir doğa harikası.Film, üniversiteden memleketi Apulia'ya dönen 21 yaşındaki bir kızın; bölgeyi kirlenmiş, zeytin ağaçlarını yok olmuş ve herkesi borç içinde bulmasının hikayesini anlatıyor. Kız, bu ekolojik felaketle savaşmaya çalışırken çok geçmeden gerçekten kirlenen şeyin insanların zihninde olduğunu anlar. 2020 Berlin UFF'de görücüye çıkan film daha sonra 2020 Cannes FF'de gösterildi. Film, modernite ve gelenek, isyan ve muhafazakarlık, bilim ve pagan inançlarını bu Katolik ülkenin fonunda güzel bir şekilde harmanlıyor.
Set in Apulia, not far from Europe’s largest steelworks which has been damaging the region’s environment for decades, the film is a visually rich ode to nature.
Thefilm tells the story of a 21 year old girl returning to her hometown Apulia from university, finding the area so polluted that the olive trees are destroyed and everyone in debt. She tries to fight this ecological disaster but soon realizes that it is the people’s minds that is really polluted. Making its debut at the 2020 Berlin IFF, the film was later shown at the 2020 Cannes FF. the film beautifully interweaves modernity and tradition, rebellion and conservatism, science and pagan beliefs against the backdrop of this Catholic country.
