Davies’in ilk filmleri olan üçleme; kısa filmler Children, Madonna and Child ve Death and Transfiguration’ın üç farklı bölüm şekilde bir araya getirilmesinden oluşuyor. Bu kısa filmler aslında Robert Tucker’ın hayatının üç dönemini anlatıyor. Film, ilk kısımda çocukluğunu hatırlayan Tucker’ın, ikinci kısımda hâlâ beraber yaşadığı hasta annesiyle ilgilenmesine ve itiraf edemediği eşcinselliğine odaklanıyor. Son kısımda da Tucker’ın annesinin ölümüyle başa çıkışını ve kendi yaşamını da gözden geçirerek ölümünü kabullenişini anlatıyor.
The trilogy consists of three short films Children, Madonna and Child, and Death and Transfiguration; Davies’ first films. These short films tell the three different periods of Robert Tucker’s life. In the first part of the film Tucker remembers his childhood; in the second part, the film focuses on Tucker taking care of his mother, with whom he still lives together, and his closeted homosexuality. The last part is about how Tucker tries to cope with the death of his mother and how he accepts it while reviewing his very own life.
