İstanbul Funk Unit, 2011 yılında, Nils Landgren’in dünyaca ünlü grubundan esinlenen Cenk
Soyak’ın liderliğinde biraraya gelmiştir. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Bill
Withers gibi ustaların parçalarının yanı sıra, folk ve halk müziğimizin de bazı örneklerini funk
yorumları ile seslendiren grubun önemli bir özelliği de bünyesinde girişimci Cenk Soyak
(AloTech) ve eğitim danışmanı Evrim Özşuca gibi müzisyenlerin de yer aldığı bir caz-funk
grubu olmasıdır. İstanbul Funk Unit eğlenceli, funk ve groove dolu bir gece ile 21 Mart Cuma
gecesi Asa Khai Jazz Club sahnesinde olacak.
