Bulutsuzluk Özlemi, a Turkish rock band formed in 1984, is the first Turkish alternative rock band with Turkish lyrics and one of the leading rock bands in Turkey. Their style arose of rock as a reaction to the question "Can rock with Turkish lyrics be done?". Bulutsuzluk Özlemi successfully blended hundreds of years of Anatolian heritage into Western rock melodies and rhythms into their music and thus attracted great attention. Bulutsuzluk Özlemi created a unique audience by dealing with sociological, psychological, economic and political issues in their lyrics.
