Tugfo İstanbul Concert
The Turkish Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, established by Cem Mansur in 2007 with the support of Sabancı Foundation, as the first of its kind in the country, will meet music lovers at the Atatürk Cultural Centre with a colorful program.
The program includes "Görünmez Olanın İmgesi" (Image of the Invisible) composed by young composer Ege Gür upon the commission of Tugfo (In Memory of Earthquake Victims), Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff, whose 150th birthday is celebrated this year, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's A Midsummer Night's Dream incidental music, and Sibelius' Finlandia. The soloist for the concert is pianist Başar Can Kıvrak.
