Emniyet Apartmanı’nın dördüncü katında yaşayan Mithat Bey, yıllardır biriktirdiği koleksiyonlarını karşılaştığı her zorluğa karşı korumayı başarmıştır. Koleksiyonunun devamlılığını bozmamak için aradığı herhangi bir parça onu İstanbul’un her köşesine götürebilir. Mithat Bey için İstanbul’un kendisi de koleksiyonu kadar sınırsızdır. Oysa Ali için İstanbul, Emniyet Apartmanı ve çevresiyle sınırlıdır. Köyünden İstanbul’a gelip apartmanda kapıcılık yapmaya başlayan Ali, kızı kapıcı dairesindeki rutubetten astıma yakalanınca, evdeki koşullar düzelene dek ailesini köye geri yollamıştır. Apartmanın diğer sakinleri deprem endişesi ve daha değerli bir eve sahip olma isteğiyle binayı yıkıp yeniden inşaa etmeyi tercih edince, Mithat Bey’in koleksiyonları uğruna verdiği savaşların en zorlusu başlar. Bina yıkılırsa Mithat Bey koleksiyonlarını kaybedecektir, Ali de hem evini, hem işini. Artık apartman, yalnız yaşayan bu iki adamın ortak kaderidir.
11’e 10 Kala, bu yıl Nida Karabol’a Uçan Süpürge Vakfı tarafından Bilge Olgaç Başarı Ödülü verilmesi vesilesiyle gösteriliyor.

Living on the fourth floor of Emniyet Apartment Building, Mithat Bey has, against all threats he has faced, managed to protect his collection, which he has been working on for years. Any piece he searches for to maintain the continuity of the collection could lead him anywhere in Istanbul. For him, Istanbul is as unlimited as his collection whereas, for Ali, it is limited to the Emniyet Apartment Building and its surroundings. Coming from the village to Istanbul, Ali started to work as the apartment's concierge. When his daughter contracted asthma due to the humidity on the concierge’s floor, Ali sent his family back home to his village until the conditions were improved. When the other tenants in the building, out of fear of an earthquake and with the ambition to own a more valuable building, prefer to have it demolished to be rebuilt again, Mithat Bey’s most challenging war for his collection begins. The building is now the shared destiny of these two men who live alone.
This year, The Load is showcased in celebration of Nida Karabol’s receipt of the Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award from the Flying Broom Foundation.
