A Branch Hit My Eye
Thousands of migrant workers who come to Turkey's Black Sea Region each year to work in the hazelnut harvest spend their summers living in tents or in ruined buildings. Workers, who have to work in very difficult conditions, cannot express any of the problems they experience in this sector, where many problems from labor exploitation to racism are invisible, and they have to accept the current inequality. The exploitation of labor, which has become commonplace with the invisible problems experienced, results in the inclusion of world brands, which are buyers of the Black Sea hazelnut, known as the best quality hazelnut in the world. This documentary tells the story of children under the age of 15 and their families who -have to- work in the hazelnut harvest, although it is prohibited by law, and why this order has not changed, through the eyes of a child rights activist.
Dinamo Mesken
Ertuğrulgazi Mesken Sports Club was founded in 1971 by the neighborhood youth and children interested in soccer. The club was closed down for political reasons in 1982, following the Military Coup in 1980. The players and members of the club were taken into custody and tortured. The people who lived those times tell us how the Coup has affected both the neighborhood and the team.
