Prioritization of dominant gender, sexuality, race, class, ethnicity, religion and normative bodies; These are concepts that have an impact on the present and the future, our expectations from life and the obstacles we encounter. The aim of the Greece-based Positively Different Short Film Festival, which aims to shed light on the lives of "others" with reality and comedy, and when necessary, with abstraction and experiments, is to raise awareness about intersectionality and discrimination.
In cooperation with istos film & istos yayin and Başka Sinema, Positively Different Short Film Festival will meet the Istanbul audience this year, in addition to Athens and Berlin, at Kadıköy Cinema on March 10.
A total of 40 films from 22 different countries will take us to challenging but exciting worlds! In the festival selection that addresses the concepts of gender, sexuality, disability, migration, class and race, the creators use humor, sensitivity, courage and curiosity to ask questions like "What are the limits of our identities?", "How do you resist forgetting when you don't remember what you don't remember?" The festival's finalists will compete for 4 awards this year; Best Film Award, Audience Award, Best Greek Production, Curation Team Award. The selection of winning films will meet the Istanbul audience at Kadıköy Cinema on March 10 at 21:00, at the same time in other cities.
