Halim Şefik Güzelson invited his friends Orhan Veli, Melih Cevdet, Sait Faik and Nurullah Ataç to his favourite haunt, Monsieur Lambo's Meyhane. On the back of the signed invitations there is a note: "Please come without drinking!" Upon this mysterious invitation, Suat Derviş stops by the tavern by chance, which makes the night even more beautiful. Now all that is missing is a surprise "Güzel Son" to the night.
As part of the 26th IKSV Theatre Festival, we continue to stage the play "Güzel Son" written by Hakan Tabakan, which is part of the "Istanbul Mon Amour" project designed by Işıl Kasapoğlu 30 years ago and implemented by Semaver Kumpanya, and which tells about Istanbul from the world of characters such as Orhan Veli Kanık, Melih Cevdet Anday, Nurullah Ataç, Sait Faik Abasıyanık, Suat Derviş, Halim Şefik Güzelson.
Hakan Tabakan, the author of the play, writes; "Orhan Veli, Melih Cevdet, Nurullah Ataç, Sait Faik, Suat Derviş, Halim Şefik, Lambo and a beautiful ending that we all need... It is not a new saying that life is temporary but art and literature are eternal. Poets die, poems live. This is not a consoling saying. We know these people who had lives only through their works, but yes, they also had worries, sadness, joys and good days. Some of them lived long, some of them lived to be 35, but all of them died early. What if Orhan, Melih, Nurullah, Sait, Suat, Şefik and all of them had met at Lambo's tavern one evening and we had been there... Wouldn't that be a better ending?"
