In an Aegean mountain village in present-day Turkey, there is tension between a woman nine months pregnant and the village headman. Gülsüm, a nomad woman, is the only one who opposes the fact that all the men in the village are sent to mines in other cities. Gülsüm lives outside the village with her daughter and her animals; she is considered strange because her beliefs and way of life are different. After the recent events, the headman Adem isolates her in the village and forbids the villagers from even passing by her house. Gülsüm now has two options; she can either adapt to the system or she can trust nature and her nature.
