Kara Kutu

Just a theater, a screen, and a movie you haven’t seen yet… Because sometimes going to see a movie means knowing nothing about it beforehand. After all, there’s no poster for this screening, no clips from the film—until you enter the theater and the light hits the screen, there’s no clue as to what you’ll be watching; there’s only the film itself.

Black Box, rejecting the marketing conventions of the modern, capitalist age, invites you to the theater without choosing the film, research it, or read anything about it—and, most importantly, to prevent cinema from losing its rare purity and essence, it invites you to the theater without marketing the film to you.

The screen will light up, and together we’ll experience the unspoiled magic of cinema.

Building on the interest, appreciation, and support audiences have shown for its long-standing film screenings and selections, Othon has embarked on this new path, aims to bring many masterpieces and experimental selections—which have never before had the chance to be screened in Turkey—to its audience, who share a deep connection with cinema.

We invite you to join us in this journey into the abyss.
