17 yaşındaki Asher’in okul hayatı boyunca bir baş belası olduğu bilinir. Sahip olduğu öfke ve şiddet nedeniyle sınıfta konsantre olması zordur. Yine de önemli bir cazibesiz ve sokak bilgeliği vardır. English Version

17-year-old Asher has been best known as a troublemaker throughout his school life. Concentrating in class is so difficult for him because of all the rage and violence he has. Yet he is also endowed with a considerable amount of charm and street-wise. While his
oppressive father sees him as a natural successor to the family’s scaffolding business, he finds a different masculine role model in Rami, his new literature teacher. He seems to feel so fed up with all the humiliation his father gives him therefore he begins searching for a new life and a new identity. But an unexpected tragedy occurs and he crosses lines from which there is no turning back. Even though it’s the director’s first feature film, Scaffolding was selected in the ACID programme at Cannes 2017.

MATAN YAIR

1977’de doğdu. Film yapımcısı, yazar ve lisede tarih ve edebiyat öğretmeni olan Yair, Kudüs’teki Sam Spiegel Film ve Televizyon Okulundaki Senaryo Bölümünden ve Tel Aviv Üniversitesindeki MFA Yönlendirme Programından mezun oldu. Matan’ın
edebi ve sanatsal eserleri onun kişisel deneyimlerinden beslenmektedir.

English Version

Born in 1977. He is known as a film maker, an author and a high school teacher in History and literature. He graduated from the screenwriting program at the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School in Jerusalem, and from the MFA directing program at Tel Aviv University. Matan’s literary and artistic work derives from his personal experiences and biography.
