Julieta, Pedro Almodovar's adaptation of Alice Munro's short stories, tells the story of Julieta, who embarks on an inner journey in search of her daughter.

After the tragic death of her husband Xoan, Julieta tries to rebuild her life in Madrid with her daughter Antia. But instead of bringing them closer, their grief drives them further apart. Antia, who lived with Julieta until she was eighteen, leaves home one day without any explanation. As Julieta searches for her daughter, she realizes how little she knows her. When she learns the whereabouts of her daughter from Bea, one of Antia's closest friends whom she meets on the road one day, Julieta's journey and reckoning with her past begins.
