Kersko adında küçük bir köyde yaşayan Çeklerin kırsal ve günlük hayatlarını yansıtan film, Çek köylülerinin rutin hayatlarına ışık tutuyor. Köylülerin basit ama duygusal varoluşlarını yansıtmasıyla övgü toplayan film, aynı zamanda müziklerinin Menzel’in daha önceki filmlerinden seçilmiş olmasıyla ünlü. A Czech classic, The Snowdrop Festival is a comedy film adapted to cinema from the book of Bohumil Hrabal of the same name. Presenting the country life and the daily lives of Czech people living in a small village called Kersko. The film aims to provide an insight to how Czech villagers engage in their daily lives and is praised for reflecting the simple yet sensitive nature of the villagers. Interestingly enough, the music of the film is famous for being selected from Menzel’s earlier films. In this film, Menzel successfully mixes sentimental lyricism and rough (but not vulgar!) humor and the outcome is the never-ending landscape of continuous life in the proximate nearness of nature.
