The first light of morning streams through a half-curtained window into a bedroom filled with moving boxes. Emre and Defne, a couple in their early thirties, wake up amidst the clutter of an apartment that—with their belongings still packed away—feels as though they have either just moved in or are about to move out. In rooms that reveal the lived-in character of the home, Defne’s everyday actions—performed with the excitement of their first day there—create moments for Emre that range from the mundane to the intimate, special, and even magical. As he explores the dynamics of his relationship with Defne through these moments, Emre also finds opportunities throughout the day to confront aspects of his own personality and mistakes in the relationship that he had previously failed to notice.
