Sinopsis (TR): 

Diyarbakır İçkale’deki Saraykapı mahallesine yıllar sonra yeniden bakan fotoğrafçının kamera/gözü, geçmiş ve bugünün üst üste binen katmanları arasında dolaşır. Kentsel dönüşümle değişen mahallede yeniden kayıtlar tutan fotoğrafçı, on yıl önce çektiği fotoğraflardaki yüzleri ve yerleri arar. Fotoğrafımızı Çekin, imajın şimdi ve burada söyledikleriyle hafızanın her defasında yeniden biçimlenen kaydı arasındaki ilişkiyi takip ederken, bizi bir ‘hatırlama’ aracı olan fotoğrafın sınırlarında dolaştırır. 

Sinopsis (ENG): 

The camera/eye of the photographer, who revisits the Saraykapı neighborhood in Diyarbakır İçkale after many years, wanders between the overlapping layers of past and present. The photographer re-records the neighborhood, transformed by urban development, and searches for the faces and places she captured in photographs a decade ago. Take Our Photo explores the relationship between what the image conveys in the present moment and the record of memory that is reconfigured each time, while taking us to the boundaries of photography as a tool for 'remembering.'

The earthquake that shook Turkey on February 6, 2023, changed thousands of lives. The documentary focuses on the physical and emotional recovery process of children who were affected by this disaster and lost their limbs. The challenges faced by these children trying to build new lives in different regions of Turkey, and their struggles to overcome them, are told around the themes of solidarity and hope.

Just Like Before is not just a story of physical recovery; it is an inspiring documentary that makes visible the rebuilding of social bonds, the transformative power of solidarity, and the healing effect of hope.

Adını mitolojik bir figür olan Daphne’den alan kısa belgesel, Hatay’ın Defne ilçesinde geçiyor. Aynı aileye mensup üç kuşağın gündelik dil ve imgelerini merkezine alarak kuşaklar arasındaki süreklilik ve dönüşümleri görünür kılmayı amaçlayan ve kültürel belleğin kadın deneyimleri üzerinden nasıl inşa edildiğini tartışan film, Defne mitinin kökensel anlatısına referansla doğa, yaşam ve kadın arasındaki ilişkiyi şiirsel bir üslupla ele alıyor.

This short documentary set in Hatay’s Defne district takes its name from the mythological figure of Daphne. Centering on the everyday language and imagery of three generations within the same family, the film seeks to shine a light on the continuities and transformations across generations. By examining how cultural memory is constructed through women’s experiences, it engages with the foundational narrative of the Daphne myth to poetically reflect on the interconnections between nature, life, and femininity.
