Yussef Dayes Concert

Yussef Dayes at Paribu Art on October 24

Yussef Dayes stands out for his extraordinary mastery behind the drums. Raised in South London, the producer, composer, and drummer is recognized as one of the most exciting live performers of his generation. Watching him on stage offers an exhilarating experience where technical mastery, intense energy, and emotion converge, powerfully conveying to the audience the role rhythm plays in transmitting spiritual energy.

Last year marked a true breakthrough for Dayes. His debut solo studio album, *Black Classical Music*, which features collaborations with artists such as Masego, Chronixx, Jamilah Barry, and Tom Misch, brought the artist into the spotlight. Following the album’s release, Dayes won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album and received two BRIT Award nominations. The album appeared on “Best of the Year” lists from platforms and publications such as Spotify, NPR Music, Rough Trade, BBC Radio 6 Music, the Boston Globe, PopMatters, AllMusic, Loud and Quiet, Brooklyn Vegan, Treblezine, KCRW, WRTI, and Qobuz. The album was also featured on Channel 4 News and included in over 75 editorial playlists on digital music platforms.

In recent months, tickets for Dayes’ concert at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall—as well as for her tours across the United Kingdom, the U.S., Australia, Asia, and Latin America—have all sold out. Following the *Live at Joshua Tree* EP, his breathtaking second live performance recording, *Live From Malibu*, was released in early 2024 and has amassed over 2.5 million views. In late 2023, Yussef became the first drummer to perform a solo set on COLORS. The performance quickly went viral, racking up over 3.2 million views in just three weeks. The artist also performed on the BBC’s *Later with Jools Holland*.

In the summer of 2024, Yussef Dayes’s first festival, Summer Dayes—which he curated himself—took place in the heart of Southeast London, where he grew up.

Let’s meet at Paribu Art on October 24.
