        Biography

        Asıl adı Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht'tir. 20. yüzyılın en etkili Alman şairi, oyun yazarı ve tiyatro yönetmeni olarak nitelendirilir. Eserleri uluslararası alanda da saygı ile kabul görmüş ve ödüllendirilmiştir. Daha önce Erwin Piscator tarafından adı konulan epik tiyatronun, diğer bir deyişle "Diyalektik Tiyatro"’nun kurucusudur. Brecht kendisini (Walter Benjamin’e söylediği gibi) "Komünist" olarak tanımlar.
