Who is Engin Gürmen?
Biographyİstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi mezunudur.Üniversitede okurken Şehir Tiyatroları’nda çalışmaya başladı. Babası, İstanbul Şehir Tiyatrosu kurucu sanatçılarından Hüseyin Kemal Gürmen’dir. Birçok oyunda rol aldı, yönetmen asistanlığı yaptı. 1975 yılından itibaren yönetmenlik çalışmalarına ağırlık verdi. İlk yönettiği oyun, Muhsin Ertuğrul’un Genel Sanat Yönetmeni olduğu dönemde sahnelenen, Cevat Fehmi Başkurt’un yazdığı “Ölen Hangisi” adlı oyundur. Yönetmenliğinin yanı sıra, İBB Şehir Tiyatroları’nda dramaturgluk ve Genel Sanat Yönetmeni Yardımcılığı da yapmıştır.
