Who is Shaggy ?
BiographyShaggy, reggae ve dancehall tarzındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınan Jamaika asıllı Amerikalı şarkıcı ve söz yazarıdır. 1968 yılında Jamaika’nın Kingston kentinde Orville Richard Burrell adıyla doğan sanatçı, genç yaşlarda ailesiyle birlikte ABD’ye taşınmış ve müzik kariyerini burada geliştirmiştir.
1990’lı yıllarda yayımladığı şarkılarla uluslararası müzik sahnesinde tanınan Shaggy, reggae ritimlerini pop ve dancehall unsurlarıyla birleştiren tarzıyla geniş bir dinleyici kitlesine ulaşmıştır. “Boombastic”, “It Wasn’t Me”, “Angel” ve “Oh Carolina” gibi parçaları dünya çapında büyük başarı elde etmiş ve uzun süre müzik listelerinde yer almıştır.
Shaggy, kariyeri boyunca yayımladığı albümler ve konser performanslarıyla reggae ve dancehall müziğini küresel popüler müzik sahnesine taşıyan sanatçılardan biri olarak müzik çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir.
