Whalefall

The film follows a young diver who is swallowed by a massive sperm whale while diving to retrieve his father’s remains from the ocean, and chronicles his struggle to survive and escape inside the animal’s belly with limited oxygen.

After his father’s death, Jay Gardiner goes diving off the central coast of California in an attempt to find his father’s remains, but is swallowed by a massive sperm whale in a tragic accident. Trapped in the whale’s stomach in pitch darkness, the young man has only one hour of oxygen left to survive and make his way out. As Jay races against the rapidly dwindling clock, he must not only overcome physical challenges but also recall his complex relationship with his father and the survival lessons his father taught him to find a way to escape this extraordinary prison.
