Seventeen-year-old Adi, who is spending the summer vacation with his family in a quiet village on the Danube in Romania, is brutally attacked on the street one night; before the sun has even risen, his world has been turned upside down. As his family's view of him changes, the supposed peace of the village begins to crumble. In his third feature film, award-winning actor and director Emanuel Pârvu centers on the young victim of a homophobic attack and portrays young Adi's deepening frustration and silent cries in the face of the icy reality, prejudice and corruption of his family and village community. With its challenging and provocative point of view, the film was nominated for Romania's Oscar.
