Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach

An autobiography of Bach compiled from the diaries of his wife, Anna M. Bach, who was also a musician. The film, which presents the famous composer’s life through his wife’s account—focusing more on his career than on drama—accompanies a musical journey ranging from the Brandenburg Concertos to various sonatas and suites. In the film, Bach is portrayed by the renowned harpsichordist Gustav Leonhardt.
