Elisabeth Vogler takma adıyla çektiği tek planlı filmi “Paris Is Us” ile dikkatleri çeken Laurent Slama, kamerasını bir kez daha Paris sokaklarına çeviriyor ve bizi 2024 Paris Olimpiyat Oyunları’nın kaotik açılış gününe götürüyor. Konsiyerj olarak tüm gün turistlere kiraladıkları evleri göstermekle görevli Elisabeth, yoğun iş temposu ve işitme engelinin yarattığı baskıyla baş etmeye çalışır. Tek kaçış noktası, işitme cihazını kapatıp Monet’nin ‘Nilüferler’ tablosunda kaybolmaktır. Tâ ki Elijah, hayatına neşe ve macera getirene kadar… Dostluğa bir övgü niteliğindeki bu kent masalı, Paris’in samimi portresini çekiyor ve kişisel zorluklar ve farklılıklarla birlikte yaşamayı sıra dışı bir zarafetle sunuyor.

Laurent Slama, who first gained attention with his single-take feature Paris Is Us (shot under the pseudonym Elisabeth Vogler), once again turns his lens toward the streets of Paris, capturing the city’s pulse on the chaotic opening day of the 2024 Olympic Games. Elisabeth, a concierge who spends her days showing rented apartments to tourists, struggles with the pressures of her demanding job and her hearing impairment. Her only refuge lies in turning off her hearing aid and losing herself in Monet’s Water Lilies—until Elijah enters her life, bringing with him a renewed sense of joy and adventure. This tender urban tale, a vibrant tribute to friendship, offers an intimate portrait of Paris and portrays the experience of living with personal challenges and differences with remarkable grace.

Laurent Slama: (1989, Fransa) Elisabeth Vogler mahlasıyla çektiği “Blanchisserie de France” (2014) belgeseli ve Netflix yapımı ilk uzun filmi "Paris Is Us” (2019) ile dikkatleri çekti. Son filmi “İkinci Şans”, prömiyerini Tribeca’nın ana yarışmasında yaptı.
