The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson makes his final journey to Middle-earth in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," the final film in his trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's timelessly popular masterpiece "The Hobbit."

In "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies", the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and the Company of Dwarves come to an epic conclusion. The Dwarves of Erebor have regained the great wealth of their homeland, but now they must face the consequences of unleashing the terrifying Dragon Smaug upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake Town. Thorin Oakenshield, the King Under the Mountain, stricken with dragon-sickness, sacrificed friendship and honor in his search for the legendary Arkenstone. Unable to help Thorin see reason, Bilbo is forced to make a desperate and dangerous choice, unaware that greater dangers lie ahead. An old enemy has returned to Middle-earth. The Dark Lord Sauron has sent four companies of Orcs on a secret attack on the Lonely Mountain. As darkness falls over their escalating conflict, Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide: Unite or perish. As five great armies go to war, Bilbo must fight for his life and the lives of his friends.
