        Memories from a Journey to Lithuania documents the journey of Jonas Mekas, one of the most important figures in the history of cinema, as he returns to his native Lithuania after 27 years from America, where he was forced to leave due to the war. Using an analog handheld camera and his own unique demeanor, Mekas questions belonging and the past tense of the world through childhood memories, the experience of migration, and the reconnection with his family. Thus, the film transforms from an individual memory into a universal story of migration and longing. Mekas' homecoming is a journey of remembrance that explores the meaning of returning to one's roots while tracing a lost past.
