Suellen, a single mother working as a toll booth attendant, falls in with a gang when she realizes that she can use her job to raise some extra money illegally for a so-called noble cause: to send her son to an expensive gay conversion workshop led by a renowned priest.
This touching, complex family and social drama is the second feature film by the talented Brazilian directress Carolina Markowicz (Charcoal, 2022). The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where it received the Emerging Talent Award.
