Musa lives with his father, Beko, in a single-story mud-brick house in the town of Keban, Elazığ. His father, who earns a living as a runner in greyhound and rabbit races, learns from the director of a private rehabilitation center that Musa can receive a disability certificate and thus receive a pension from the state. However, for the certificate, Musa needs to learn from Nergis how to appear disabled. Musa fears becoming disabled, but he begins training at the rehabilitation center, where it's difficult to distinguish between genuine disability and faking it. He also learns that Nergis is forced to pretend to be disabled because of her mother, who works at the center. Musa includes Nergis in his dream of creating a Rabbit Empire in an old mine, where he rescues rabbits from traps and races. The two friends embark on a dangerous struggle to rescue the rabbits from traps and themselves from disability.
