In A Strange Orhan Veli, the verses of the immortal poet Orhan Veli, who conveys his joy of life, hope, passion and love for Istanbul in a perfect language, meet art lovers again with the pen of master writer Murathan Mungan, the impressive acting of Reha Özcan and the modern interpretation of director Murat Sarı and Ayşegül Hardeyn. A Strange Orhan Veli play uses a striking stage language with images blended with technology and music.
Reha Özcan
Reha Özcan graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory Theatre Department in 1987. He started his professional theatre career at the State Theatres in the same year. In 2016, he retired from the institution where he worked for 35 years as an actor and director. He played leading roles in more than 40 plays, won the ‘best actor’ award 6 times in prestigious theatre awards. He represented our country with various plays in Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, Romania, Macedonia, Belarus and Russia, especially Edinburgh Fringe and Avignon. In addition to theatre acting and directing, he continues to give many workshops and creative drama classes on acting in Turkey and abroad, and continues to work in cinema and TV.
