        Gençliğinde yaşadığı aşk ilişkisinde hamile kalan Claire, sevgilisi Alfred’in daha varlıklı bir kız için kendini terk etmesinin ardından kasabadan kovulmuştur. Kırk yıl sonra Claire, yaptığı evliliklerle son derece zenginleşmiş Bayan Zachanassian olarak kasabaya dönmüştür. Yoksulluğa düşmüş kasaba halkına bir servet vadeder ama bir şartı vardır; İntikam. “Bir Ziyaret” paranın satın alma gücünün karşısında yozlaşan ahlakı, toplumsal ikiyüzlülüğü trajikomik bir dille sahneye taşıyor.
