    Hastalık dediğin şey yazamaz, Anne. Hastalık hayal kuramaz. Hastalık bir fikir sahibi olup, sonra oturup eline bir kalem alamaz; çünkü hastalık, insanlar gibi gelişmiş ve evrimini tamamlamış bir memeli değildir.
    “Kız annesinin etrafında uçup havada taklalar atarak çamaşır iplerinde dolanıyordu. Pencerede komik suratlar yaparken ‘Yukarı bak, yukarı bak, yukarı bak !..’ diye oyunlar oynuyordu. O sırada kızın postu ağlayan annesinin ellerinde bir kar gibi eriyordu.”
