Jerry Ryan is a Nebraskan lawyer, recently separated from his wife. He moves to a shabby apartment in New York to get away from it all. At a friend's house, he meets a woman dancer (Gitta Mosca) with a fighting spirit. The relationship between the two begins when Jerry makes a phone call to Gitta.
