Yaprak Dökümü Theatre Play
Age Limit: 15+
Play Duration: 130 min./ 2 acts
In the turbulent Turkey of the 1940s, the story of Ali Rıza Bey and his family is a sad and cautionary tale of "emulating the wrong values of the West" and how material values, exceeding vital needs, drag people and thus families into an abyss.
This immortal work of Reşat Nuri Güntekin is presented this time with a new adaptation from the novel. In this direction, every sentence heard on the stage, as if coming from distant years, will make today's people think at the same level.
Ali Rıza Bey, a retired Mutasarrıf, is a man who has always believed that people should spend their lives believing in something more valuable than money, and has been careful to live like that. However, the increasingly difficult financial conditions and the "modernisation" efforts of his daughters, who are still growing up, will drag the family into a disaster.
In the play; Hakan ALTINER (Mr Ali Rıza), Suna KESKİN (Mrs Hayriye), Orçun KAPTAN (Son), Pınar ATAER (Older Daughter), Damla KAPTAN and İlkyaz KOCATEPE (Middle Girls), İrem UĞURAL (Younger Daughter), Selda ÖZBEK (Ferhunde), Kahraman SİVRİ (Naili Bey), Tayfun YILMAZ (Abdülvahap), Sadi ÖZEN (Vehbi), Barış ÖZKOÇAK (Behlül) and Yüksel YALOVA (Reşat Nuri GÜNTEKİN).
