These blue days and this childhood sun" is the last known verse of Antonio Machado. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Antonio Machado's birth, the Spanish Embassy in Türkiye is promoting a tribute with cinematic and musical elements.
Antonio Machado. Los días azules (2020) is an acclaimed documentary directed by Laura Hojman that delves into the poet's life through an exploration of his connection with the seven cities where he lived. Ian Gibson, Elvira Lindo, and Luis García Montero are some of the voices who, throughout the film, praise Antonio Machado's artistic quality and his life journey until his death in exile in Collioure.
After the screening, there will be a short recital inspired by poems by Antonio Machado, performed by guitarist and painter José María Rodríguez.
