Üç saati aşan efsanevi Woodstock filmi, 1969 yılında “Barış ve Müziğin Üç Günü” sloganıyla ilk kez düzenlenen ve 450 bin kişinin katıldığı Woodstock Müzik Festivalini belgeliyor. Michael Lang ve Joel Rosenman tarafından organize edilen Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, Joan Baez, The Who, Joe Cocker, The Band, Jefferson Airplane gibi rock, folk ve funk müziğin efsanelerini bir araya getiren festivalin ne kadar büyük, kalabalığın ne denli etkileyici olduğunu bir yandan görüntüler üzerinden takip ederken bir yandan da tanıklıkları dinliyoruz. Yönetmen Michael Wadleigh sadece bir festival ya da müzik şöleni olarak kalmayan, ‘68’in ruhunu, yarım milyon insanın barış mesajını ve isyan ateşini taşıyan Woodstock’ın bir bakıma tarihteki yerini arşivliyor. Müzik belgeselleri içerisinde çok özel bir yeri olan bu belgesel sahne kayıtları, çoklu çekimleri, döneme ışık tutan röportajlarıyla defalarca taklit edilen bir film olarak adeta parlıyor.

English Version

The legendary film that lasts longer than three hours, tells the story of Woodstock Music Festival, held for the first time with the in 1969 with the “3 Days of Peace & Music” motto and the participation of 450,000 people. As we watch the footages of the massive festival; organized by Michael Land and Joel Rosenman; bringing together the legends of rock, folk and funk like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, Joan Baez, The Who, Joe Cocker, The Band, and the Jefferson Airplane and the amazing crowds, we also listen to people’s memories. Director Michael Wadleigh archives the place of Woodstock, that was not just a music festival but also the soul of ‘68, half-a-million people’s message of peace and the fire of rebellion. Having a very special place in the musical documentaries, the documentary shines as a repeatedly imitated documentary with stage footages, multiple shots, and interviews reflect the time.
